Love

It's February and it's a month filled with love. Right? There are a few things I can list that I can honestly say I haven't loved too much during this month...such as certain annoying clients who feel the need to call 24/7, cold weather, having 8 loads of laundry piled high, etc. The list could go on and on but instead I decided I'd list all the things I love....

-MY General, the smart, loving, manly man, Mr. Fix-It guy that I married.
-the biggest snuggle bear I received as part of marrying My General, Bailey.
-my parents
-all our other family...
-my job
-magazines
-sunsets on the beach, or lake, or back porch
-photography
-friends
-texts
-my ipod and the music it plays
-guitars and pianos
-cupcakes
-smiles
-compliments
-pink or red finger nail polish
-chick flicks
-Chick-Fil-A
-milkshakes
-swimming pools
-warm weather
-Auburn
-babies
-strawberries and blueberries and kiwi
-Boots!
-my pink down blanket
-days off
-sunglasses
-weddings

...and the list could continue. You get an idea of the things I enjoy and the things that make me happy. Even tho I don't always love the piles of laundry, the annoying clients, or the cold weather, I'm so thankful God opens my eyes to all the things I do love he has blessed me with. I can be thankful for the loads of laundry b/c I have a ton of clothes and I love my husband who piles his clothes up. My husband who doesn't worry whether his clothes are in the dirty pile or freshly folded. He still loves me. I can be thankful for the annoying client b/c I have a job, and I honestly do love my job.

Happy Valentine's Day...filled with love.

this & that in a month

December came and went in a flash. We made our first Christmas card together. We celebrated the General's 26th birthday. My sister's 3rd anniversary. We spent Christmas with all our family and enjoyed our time together. We celebrated a New Year at the beach...AND we enjoyed our first year together as a married couple! (I think I'll do a whole post on our first year...)

Work's been crazy wild, but I do believe I've gotten some quality entertainment lately. My boss is opening a new restaurant in town and we've had the pleasure of interviewing at our office. I've done more paper work and phone calls for a business than I've ever thought was possible. I'm so thankful I have a job that doesn't deal with the general public on a daily basis. I don't see how you people do it! Granted, the person is applying for a job for one franchise, they return the application or receive a phone call from one business, then come to an interview at a different business...but it's really not that hard. I thought (assumed) people used Google Maps for most anything. I was wrong. I've been on the phone so much explaining our location so much that I lost my voice...for 5 days. Things are getting better, interviews are slowing down (or well, not really that much), the restaurant is slowly being finished, and we're approaching the opening date. Fingers crossed things will actually slow down around our office once it's opened.

Other news, lately I've realized to be thankful for the doors that have been closed in my life. After a long awaited graduation, I married the love of my life, and couldn't find a job for 5 months. Yes, "there was a recession," but I'm pretty confident God was working on me (& the General) and preparing me for what he had in store. I've been blessed with the most perfect job and doors are starting to open for new things in our lives. We're moving forward and making progress. I can't wait to see what else he has planned for us.

Fall and Fun

To the only reader I have at the time: Yes, Sept. 4th sure was a long time ago. A lot has happened but I haven't started a habit of blogging...so I forget. I think it's less important or not too funny. The month of October flew by. General and I did a little babysitting for the first time in forever. Nothing too big, just our nieces. We had fun...I was in charge of feeding and changing diapers while General did the playing. We also got to celebrate Libby's (our oldest niece) 3rd birthday!
The birthday girl with a BIG smile!

Carlee and I at Libby's party.

Then there was Halloween. We were party poopers this year. We didn't dress up, and we didn't hand out candy! However, we did go to the church's fall festival on Wednesday before Halloween. I guess that counts. I forgot to take a camera, and I'm sure ppl would have thought I was crazy just taking pictures of random ppl. I did take a few pictures of my favorite little fella in a sunflower field.
Meet Cash. The cutest blue eyed 10 month old baby buddy. While his mom and dad drove us to the sunflower field we sat in the back and had a little photo session.

It didn't take the little man long to get tired and sleepy after a long day of fun!

That's that kind of fun we've been having lately. Hopefully I'll get better at updating a little sooner next time!

Harder then I thought

Keeping up with a blog is a little harder than I expected. I always thought I had all these great ideas of what I would blog about. As much as I thought I took a lot of pictures, I don't have much documentation of the things the General and I have been doing lately.

Since my last post, we enjoyed a weekend at the lake with my family. I took a trip to Auburn for a seminar for a weekend. I'm trying to become a little more organized with our life. Maybe becoming a planner is a better word. I've started planning our meals weekly/bi weekly. We've actually been sticking to it! It works way better when going to the grocery store too. We've also been going to the gym atleast 3 days a week for the past 3 weeks. (That's a big deal for us!) We haven't really started seeing great results yet...but we're getting there!

Hopefully I'll get a little better with updating the blog and posting pictures.

Sweet Bailey

I finally got excited about creating my own blog, and of course now I don't have those "Oh, I should blog about that" kind of happenings these days. We have no kids yet, none along the way either, we don't have a cutesy little house we're decorating, we don't live on a farm yet, I haven't taken too many pictures the past few days, BUT we do have the cutest chocolate Labaraner (mixed Lab & Weimaraner) named Bailey. He lives inside with us, and he's spoiled rotten. He'll be 3 in October. He's finally growing out of his puppy stage. When he was younger the General decided (on 2 occasions) to leave Bailey out for a "test." Just a couple of hours...everything out of sight...surely Bailey would do good. General came home to the legs chewed off his sunglasses one time and a bag of grits all over the kitchen another time. Needless to say, he stayed in his pen everytime we left...until the past two days. I decided Monday morning when I left for work Bailey would get to stay out of his pen for the day. I picked up all the shoes and shut the doors to every room except the bedroom (where he usually likes to look out the window). He knows when I put my shoes on in the morning it's time to get in his pen. So like every other morning Bailey got in his pen...but I didn't close the door. I was worried about him all day. I was pretty sure he was going to be good though. General called me when he got home to inform me our sweet Bailey was sitting in his pen when he walked in the door! I'm pretty convinced the silly dog sat in his pen the entire day with the door open. We tried it again this morning...and the same outcome. Of course, I would love to have a little camera on the little stinker during the day to see if he really just hangs out in the pen. Obviously he's learned...or that's all he really knows. I'm rather proud!

This is our sweet Bailey when he was just a few months old. He was quite the charmer.
(please over look the floor vent in the picture...those were the college days)

This is our sweet Bailey these days. That's one of his favorite spots in the house...other than his pen.

You can see why we love this little stinker so much!

He's so sweet and innocent...most days!
